The brief that we have chosen is to create:
An extract from an original documentary TV programme,
lasting approximately five minutes, together with two of the following three
options:
- · A radio trailer for the documentary;
- · A double-page spread from a listings magazine focused on the documentary;
- · A newspaper advertisement for the documentary.
We chose the documentary brief because we feel like we are
confident and knowledgeable with filming equipment and the other aspects of
filming; therefore think that the idea of create a documentary extract will be
interesting and allow us to use and show our media skills. We also think that creating a documentary will be a good way to reflect a serious
subject.
The topic of our documentary is going to be about homosexuality and
how the ‘acceptance’ of being homosexual has changed over time and also how people view
homosexuality in today’s society.
The two ancillary tasks that we have decided to create are the
radio trailer and a newspaper advertisement for the documentary. We have chosen to do these as we have
knowledge in the use of Adobe Photoshop and other editing software which will
help us to create a professional the newspaper advertisement. Furthermore we also have access to a
recording studio at a local radio station that will allow us to record a
professional radio trailer for our documentary.
